“Ever since I have learned how to read, I have loved it,” exclaims Stella Brown, a fifth grade student at Buford Senior Academy who has been chosen for the Buford City Schools Reader Spotlight.

“I chose Stella because she is not only a great reader, but also a great student,” said Emily Stewart, media specialist at BSA. “She is kind, respectful, and sincere. Her love of reading is apparent, and it is such a privilege to know her!”

Stella, who is in Mrs. Natalie Shaw’s English/language arts class, says her favorite book series features Geronimo Stilton, a clumsy mouse who works as editor and publisher for the newspaper “The Rodent’s Gazette.” The character was created by Italian children’s book author Elisabetta Maria Dami.

“It has a lot of mystery and that is my favorite genre,” Stella says of the Geronimo Stilton books.

In addition to reading, Stella’s hobbies include knitting. When she grows up, she wants to become a teacher.

“My mom is a teacher and I think it is really awesome,” Stella says.

Congratulations, Stella, on being chosen for the BCS Reader Spotlight!
