Buford City Schools’ Reader of the Week — Isabelle Borck

One of the first students to reach the Million Word Club this school year at Buford Senior Academy, Isabelle Borck is the Reader of the Week.

A fifth grader in Ms. Angela Currie’s homeroom, Isabelle enjoys reading books by Lemony Snicket. This is the pen name of American author Daniel Handler.

“When she reads his books, she feels like she is right in the action watching it happen,” said Emily Stewart, media specialist at Buford Senior Academy.

While Lemony Snicket is a favorite author, Isabelle’s favorite book is by J. K. Rowling.

“When I asked her what her favorite book was, she told me she loved Harry Potter,” Stewart said. “I, of course, argued that ‘Azkaban’ and ‘Deathly Hollows’ are the best, but she really loved ‘Order of the Phoenix.’ I think this says a lot about her as a reader because this is one of the longest and most complex books in the series.”

Isabelle has one younger brother, and she enjoys playing piano, reading and having conversation with others.

Congratulations, Isabelle, on being named Reader of the Week!
