Buford boys and girls lacrosse racks up All-County awards

The Buford boys and girls lacrosse teams earn numerous nods at the All-County awards banquet on Monday night.  The Buford boys lacrosse team had an overall season record of 13-7 and made it to the Elite Eight in the state playoffs this year.  The Lady Wolves lacrosse team had an overall season record of 13-3 and made it to the first round of the state playoffs this spring.

Davis Peek was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year and teammate Mikey Canavan was named the Attack Player of the Year. Head coach Kevin Peek was honored with the Gwinnett County Lacrosse Coach of the Year award.

Jameson Hynds was selected to the All-County Second Team for defense while Carson Garrison made the All-County Third Team for defense.  On the offensive side, Zack Salo received All-County First Team (midfield) nods, Ashton Daniels was selected for the All-County Second Team (midfield) and Jackson Rhodes was named to the All-County Third Team (attack).  Matthew Canavan was selected as All-County First Team (goalie) and Dawson Andrew also made the All-County First Team (FOGO).  Receiving All-County Second Team (LSM) honors was Korbin Clack.

The Leadership Award went to Josh Voorhees and the Academic Award was presented to Nick Cambria.

Senior Jordan Garrison was named the girls Defensive Player of the Year.

Kaylee Moreland was selected for the All-County Third Team for defense.  Courtney Martin received All-County First Team honors for midfield. Also receiving First Team honors is Jordyn Olivo for attack.  Kylee Kangas was named to the All-County Third Team (midfield) and Madison McCoy got All-County Second Team honors (goalie).

Lauryn Brown received the scholar athlete award while Moreland was awarded the Leadership Award.
