The Annual Georgia Music Educators Association All State Chorus Concerts were held at The Classic Center in Athens on February 15-17, 2018. Georgia high school and middle school students had to audition for a chance to perform at this prestigious event. Auditions encompassed a singer’s solo, scale, and sight-reading abilities and were held regionally. If a singer passed their initial audition they were called back for a second audition. The singers passing both rounds of auditions were invited to perform at the All State event.
Buford was well represented at The Classic Center. Dr Chris Fowler and Merideth Drake led thirteen BHS students at this event. The BHS students performing at All State were Keighly Brown, Karrie Bryson, Quinn Conrath, Presley Dale, Trevor Dodge, Hope Fowler, Jesse Hanks, Jonathan Ingram, Will Jamieson, Kris Meier, Caroline Montini, Joseph Seo, and Hayes Stewart.
BMS sent nine students who were directed by Edward McQuade. Those nine students were Dylan Appling, Samantha Brody, Madisyn Christian, Kathryn Geoffroy, Grayson Gilbert, Alyssa Lovern, Leah Madsen, Nathan Montini, and Teresa Moody.
