Body found in Flowery Branch woods identified

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office has learned the identity of the decomposed female body found in a wooded area off of Paradise Point Road in Flowery Branch.

The body is that of 19-year-old Sarai Llanos Gomez of Ecuador. Her family was notified of her death Monday, July 25.

The ongoing investigation, including the release of a composite GBI sketch of the victim, led to her positive identification this week,” said B.J. Williams, a civilian public information officer for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. 

Gomez’s body was found and reported to Hall County Sheriff’s Office on June 20. Investigators were unable to find any clues to determine the her identity around where the body was found, although they had learned that she was a victim of murder.

The investigation into the murder is still active and ongoing, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, and no further details will be released at this time.
