Assistant special education director named for Buford City Schools

Buford City Schools has announced the creation of a new role at the district office, assistant special education director, to be filled by Ashley Condon.

Condon has been teaching 14 years, with the last five having been spent at Buford Senior Academy, where she served as the special education department chair. 

Condon earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/special education from Middle Georgia College and a master’s in education from Georgia College and State University in instructional technology.

Dana Maxwell, student services director for the school system, said, “Ashley is an asset to special education.”

Ashley is married to Buford High School teacher and offensive coordinator Gus Condon.

Maxwell added, “Ashley and her husband Gus are both exemplary special education teachers. We are looking forward to having her in this new leadership appointment.”
