Buford led Lovejoy when Preston Reid scored at the top of the third but Lovejoy was determined to take the win.

In Buford, the Lady Wolves ran roughshod over Clarke Central with a 77-33 victory on January 3rd. Eleven different players scored led by Casey Jones with eleven while Mary Walters and C.J. Johnson each poured in ten. Buford improves to 10-3 on the season and 4-0 in region 8-AAAAA action.
