Ice Rink Back in Sugar Hill for Fourth Season

Ice Rink Back in Sugar Hill for Fourth Season

Temperatures are starting to get cooler and for Sugar Hill that means it is almost time for the Ice Rink @ Sugar Hill to open.  The “Sweet City” is bringing back the largest outdoor real ice rink in the southeast for the 2017-18 season.  The grand opening is scheduled for November 10th.

This grand opening marks the 4th season for the rink at Sugar Hill.  Each year the rink brings around 15,000 people into Downtown Sugar Hill.  This year will be no different.   Sugar Hill is committed to bringing family-friendly entertainment into downtown.  They have worked towards that promise this year through exciting concerts, food truck nights and other community events.

The Ice Rink will sit on the Dawn P. Gober Community Plaza, which is located behind City Hall, adjacent to The Bowl Amphitheater.  The Ice Rink is a partnership between the city and Have an Ice Day Rinks, which is the same ice rink company that the city has worked with for the past three years.

Mayor Steve Edwards invites the community to join him and his fellow council members on the ice this year, “The Ice Rink at Sugar Hill is a great way to bring the community together.  We are excited to have a thriving downtown year-round, from concerts and the splash park during the summer to ice skating in the winter.  The skating rink is now a family tradition and we hope to see many of our neighbors and the surrounding community on the ice.”
